RUFF Foundation Educational Program |
RUFF requires this 4 week course that will use games to teach handlers core Flyball skills prior to participating in the Beginners Class.**
The Foundation course will use games to:
* Build tug drive- teach you to tug safely with your dog.
* Focus on the handler- learn to focus a dog's drive on YOU & tug instead of other dogs
* Develop ball possession - build your dog's drive for the tennis ball
* Reinforce basic retrieving skills - teach the dog to combine the tennis ball & the tug to retrieve for you
* Introduce foundation jumping work - core jumping foundation work to teach dogs basic skills to make jumping successful
This class is open to all skill levels
and is designed so that you can cycle through the class more
than once to continue developing these skills with your dog.
It is great for owners of puppies who are not old enough to take a beginner course and for owners of an adult dog or rescued
dog to make them focus on the handler, which is important for the Beginners Flyball Class.
Handlers that have already had their dogs through Flyball training may also benefit from these games to build their dog's drive.
By the time you enroll in that first
Beginner's Flyball class, you'll have your dog focused on YOU,
retrieving a ball and tugging like crazy!!
